Send files online with an 8-character code
Drop your files below, select Generate Code, and send the 8-character code to whoever needs it. They type the code into ShareQuik on any device and download the files.
- 100 MB per share
- 8-character code
- 3 days, extendable to 15
- No account
Find
Enter a share code to access shared content.
The 8-character code from the sender: 2 letters, then 6 digits.
Sending a file online usually means attaching it to an email, uploading it to a cloud drive and fiddling with sharing settings, or signing up for a transfer service. ShareQuik skips all of that. You upload, you get a short code, and the code is the only thing the other person needs.
It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers, so the sender and recipient don’t need the same device, app or email provider.
How ShareQuik works
- Step 1
Add files or text
Drop files into the Share panel above, up to 100 MB in total, or paste up to 3,000 words of text.
- Step 2
Generate a share code
Select Generate Code. ShareQuik uploads everything and shows a code like BX678095 that you can copy, text or read out.
- Step 3
The recipient enters the code
On any ShareQuik page they type the code into the Find panel, enter an email address, and download the files.
Why send files with ShareQuik
A code you can say out loud
Two letters and six digits fit in a text message, a chat, a sticky note or a phone call. There is no long URL to copy without breaking.
No sign-up on either side
You don’t create an account to upload and the recipient doesn’t create one to download.
Any file type
PDFs, spreadsheets, photos, videos, ZIP archives, design files or code. Mix several files in one share as long as the total stays within 100 MB.
Cleans up after itself
Shares expire after 3 days (or up to 15 if you extend them) and the files are deleted, so you don’t leave copies lying around online.
Common reasons people send files online
A file is too big for email
Most email services stop at around 20–25 MB per message. ShareQuik takes up to 100 MB per share.
You don’t have their email address
A code can go through any channel you already use with that person, including SMS or a quick call.
You are on someone else’s computer
Get a file off a borrowed or public machine without logging in to your email or cloud drive on it.
One-off hand-offs
Send a signed form, a set of photos or a draft once, without setting up a shared folder you will forget about.
What to know before you send
- Size: up to 100 MB in total per share. For more, split the files across several shares or compress them first.
- Availability: 3 days by default. Right after you generate the code, you can extend the share to 15 days by adding your email address.
- Access: anyone who has the code can open the share until it expires, so send the code only to the person you mean to.
- Downloading: the recipient enters an email address before the Download button appears. Several files download one after another, not as a single ZIP.
- No password option: the 8-character code is the key, so share it carefully.
- No storage: ShareQuik is for handing files over, not keeping them. Expired shares are deleted.
Free, with no paid tier
A lot of “free” file-sending tools are really the bottom tier of a subscription: they cap how many transfers you can make each month, hold back faster uploads for paying users, or ask for an account so they can sell you an upgrade later. ShareQuik has one version of the product, and sending with it costs nothing.
- No card, no trial. You are never asked for payment details, and nothing switches to a paid plan after a few days.
- No monthly transfer count. Only rapid-fire requests from one connection are rate-limited, to prevent abuse.
- Same limits for everyone. There is no premium tier with bigger uploads or longer storage, so the free experience isn’t deliberately held back.
- Free for the recipient too. The person downloading never pays or signs up. They enter the code and an email address, then download.
Other ways to send files online, and when they fit better
ShareQuik is built for quick, short-lived transfers up to 100 MB. Other options make more sense in a few situations:
- Files of several gigabytes: a large-file transfer service is the better tool. Our WeTransfer alternatives page compares a few.
- Files you will keep editing together: a cloud drive with a shared folder keeps one up-to-date copy.
- Small attachments to someone you already email: attaching the file is fine. See how to send files without email for when that stops working.
Among the free options: email attachments are usually capped at 20–25 MB, cloud drives need an account and the right sharing setting, and large-file services have generous free tiers for multi-gigabyte files but often limit how many transfers you can make or how long files stay up. Our free file transfer comparison goes through those services with sources.

Yes. Select or drop as many files as you like into one share, as long as they add up to 100 MB or less.
