Terms of service

Last updated

These terms apply to ShareQuik, the file-sharing website and service at sharequik.com, operated by ShareQuik (“we”, “us”). By using ShareQuik you agree to these terms. They are short because the service is simple.

The service

ShareQuik lets you upload files (up to 100 MB per share) and text (up to 3,000 words), and gives you an 8-character code that anyone can use to access that share until it expires. Shares expire after 3 days, or up to 15 days if extended, and are then deleted. ShareQuik is provided free of charge, as is, and may change or be unavailable from time to time.

Who can use ShareQuik

ShareQuik is offered to users worldwide. It does not set a specific minimum age.

Your content and responsibility

You keep ownership of what you upload, and you are responsible for it and for who you give the code to. Only share content you have the right to share. To provide the service, ShareQuik stores and processes what you upload, as described in the privacy policy.

What you may not do

  • Share content that is illegal, infringes someone else’s rights, or exploits or harms others.
  • Share malware or anything designed to damage devices or data.
  • Try to guess or enumerate share codes, overload the service, or get around its limits.

We may disable or delete shares, immediately and without notice, when we believe these terms have been broken. To report a share, open it with its code and select Report this share, or use the contact page.

If you believe a share contains material that infringes your copyright or other rights, open the share with its code and select Report this share with the reason “Copyright infringement”, or contact us through the contact page. Include the share code, a description of the material and of the work or right concerned, and how we can reach you.

Reports are reviewed by ShareQuik administrators. When we disable a share, it can no longer be opened or downloaded, including through download links issued before; we may also delete it immediately. Every share is in any case deleted automatically when it expires, at most 15 days after it was created. ShareQuik has no user accounts, so action is taken on individual shares. Reports, including the action taken, are kept for 12 months.

No storage guarantee

ShareQuik is not a backup or storage service. Keep your own copy of anything you upload. Files are deleted when a share expires and cannot be recovered. Uploads are not scanned for malware, so only open files from people you trust.

Governing law

ShareQuik is intended for use worldwide. These terms do not currently designate a specific governing law, jurisdiction or court.

How we handle uploads and email addresses is described in the privacy policy.
