About ShareQuik
Last updated
ShareQuik is a small web tool for one job: getting files or text from one person or device to another, quickly, without anyone creating an account.
How it works
You upload files (up to 100 MB per share) and/or paste text (up to 3,000 words). ShareQuik stores them privately and gives you an 8-character code. Whoever you give the code to can enter it on ShareQuik to read the text and download the files. Shares are available for 3 days, or 15 if you extend them, and are then deleted automatically.
Why a code instead of a link or an account
A code of two letters and six digits is easy to read aloud, text, or type on another device, which makes it handy for moving files to a phone, a shared computer, or someone on the other end of a call. Skipping accounts keeps the whole exchange to a few seconds.
What ShareQuik is not
- Not cloud storage: every share expires, after 15 days at most.
- Not for very large files: the limit is 100 MB per share.
- Not a secure vault: anyone with a code can open that share until it expires, and uploads are not scanned for malware. Encrypt confidential files before uploading.
