How to send files without email
Upload your file below and send the 8-character code by text, chat or phone. No attachments, no inbox, no address needed.
- 100 MB per share
- 8-character code
- 3 days, extendable to 15
- No account
Find
Enter a share code to access shared content.
The 8-character code from the sender: 2 letters, then 6 digits.
Email is a poor way to move files. Attachments are capped at around 25 MB, they clog up both mailboxes, and you need the other person’s address in the first place. There are better options, depending on why you’re avoiding email.
How ShareQuik works
- Step 1
Add files or text
Drop files into the Share panel above, up to 100 MB in total, or paste up to 3,000 words of text.
- Step 2
Generate a share code
Select Generate Code. ShareQuik uploads everything and shows a code like BX678095 that you can copy, text or read out.
- Step 3
The recipient enters the code
On any ShareQuik page they type the code into the Find panel, enter an email address, and download the files.
Why skip email for files
No size headaches
ShareQuik takes 100 MB per share, about four times a typical attachment limit.
No address needed
Pass the code through whatever channel you already use with that person.
No copies in mailboxes
The share expires and is deleted, rather than sitting in two inboxes for years.
Alternatives to email attachments
A code-based share (ShareQuik)
Upload in the panel on this page, then text or say the code. Best for one-off files up to 100 MB. One detail to know: recipients type an email address before downloading, though nothing is sent to it.
Messaging apps
Fine for small files and quick photos, but many apps compress images and video, and have their own size caps.
Cloud drive links
Good if you already use one and want the file to stay available. See how to create a download link for step-by-step instructions.
Large-file transfer services
Best for files of several gigabytes. Some still ask for your email address or the recipient’s, because they deliver the link by email.
Step by step: sending a file with a code
- Add the file in the Share panel at the top of this page.
- Select Generate Code and wait for the upload to finish.
- Copy the code and send it, along with “sharequik.com”, by text, chat or voice.
- The recipient enters the code under Find and downloads.
Frequently asked questions
Can I send a file to someone without knowing their email address?
Yes. With ShareQuik you only need a way to tell them an 8-character code.
Does ShareQuik send any emails?
No. ShareQuik doesn’t send emails to you or to the recipient.
What if the file is too big for email but bigger than 100 MB too?
Compress or split it, or use a large-file service. Our page on how to send large files walks through the options by size.
