A WeTransfer alternative for quick, small transfers
If you only need to send files under 100 MB and don’t want an account or a monthly allowance, ShareQuik is a simple option. Try it below, then compare the details.
- 100 MB per share
- 8-character code
- 3 days, extendable to 15
- No account
Find
Enter a share code to access shared content.
The 8-character code from the sender: 2 letters, then 6 digits.
WeTransfer’s free plan has become more restricted. Its own help pages say sending requires a free account, and free accounts get up to 10 transfers and 3 GB of total usage per rolling 30-day window, with links that expire after at most 3 days.
ShareQuik is much smaller in scope: 100 MB per share rather than gigabytes. In exchange there is no account and no count of transfers per month, and the recipient gets an 8-character code rather than a link.
How ShareQuik works
- Step 1
Add files or text
Drop files into the Share panel above, up to 100 MB in total, or paste up to 3,000 words of text.
- Step 2
Generate a share code
Select Generate Code. ShareQuik uploads everything and shows a code like BX678095 that you can copy, text or read out.
- Step 3
The recipient enters the code
On any ShareQuik page they type the code into the Find panel, enter an email address, and download the files.
How ShareQuik differs from WeTransfer Free
No account to send
Upload straight away. There is no sign-up step before your first transfer, or your eleventh.
No monthly allowance
Shares don’t count against a 30-day quota; only rapid repeated requests are rate-limited.
Longer optional availability
Shares last 3 days, like WeTransfer Free, but can be extended to 15 days with your email address.
ShareQuik vs WeTransfer Free
The biggest difference is size. WeTransfer’s free plan handles transfers of up to 3 GB; ShareQuik stops at 100 MB per share. If you regularly send big video files or project archives, WeTransfer or another large-file service will suit you better.
| Feature | ShareQuik | WeTransfer Free |
|---|---|---|
| Account to send | Not needed | Free account required |
| Size limit | 100 MB per share | 3 GB of total usage per rolling 30 days |

| Availability | 3 days, extendable to 15 | Up to 3 days |
| How recipients get files | Enter an 8-character code | Download link |
| Password protection | No | Yes |
Who ShareQuik suits, and who it doesn’t
- Good fit: occasional documents, photos and short clips; people who don’t want another account; sending to another device by typing a code.
- Not a good fit: transfers over 100 MB, anything needing password protection, download notifications or branded transfer pages, which WeTransfer offers and ShareQuik does not.

Frequently asked questions
Is ShareQuik a full replacement for WeTransfer?
Only for small transfers. ShareQuik is limited to 100 MB per share and has no password protection or tracking, so it is not a replacement for large or managed transfers.
Does ShareQuik need an account like WeTransfer?
No. Neither the sender nor the recipient creates an account on ShareQuik.
How long do files stay available compared with WeTransfer Free?
ShareQuik keeps shares for 3 days by default and up to 15 if extended. WeTransfer’s free links expire after at most 3 days, according to its help pages.
