Send large video files in original quality

Messaging apps often compress videos and email rejects them. ShareQuik sends your video exactly as recorded, up to 100 MB. Add it below.

Video is where file size limits bite hardest. A couple of minutes of phone footage can be bigger than an email allows, and chat apps often re-encode videos to save data, which softens detail and can make text hard to read.

ShareQuik doesn’t touch your video. What you upload is what the recipient downloads, as long as the share is 100 MB or less.

How ShareQuik works

  1. Step 1

    Add files or text

Drop files into the Share panel above, up to 100 MB in total, or paste up to 3,000 words of text.

  2. Step 2

    Generate a share code

Select Generate Code. ShareQuik uploads everything and shows a code like BX678095 that you can copy, text or read out.

  3. Step 3

    The recipient enters the code

On any ShareQuik page they type the code into the Find panel, enter an email address, and download the files.

Why send videos with ShareQuik

  • No re-encoding

Resolution, frame rate and audio stay exactly as they were in your file.

  • Any video format

MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, WebM or a project export: ShareQuik accepts any file type.

  • Works from your phone

Upload straight from your phone’s browser and send the code to a laptop or to someone else.

  • Not public

There is no public page or search listing. Only people with the code can find the share, and one code works for a whole group.

How much video fits in 100 MB?

It depends heavily on resolution, frame rate and codec. As a rough guide, phone video recorded in 1080p often takes somewhere between 40 and 100 MB per minute, and 4K takes several times that. So 100 MB is usually a short 1080p clip of one to two minutes, or well under a minute of 4K.

Check your file’s actual size before uploading. On most phones it’s shown in the file’s details or info screen.

If your video is over 100 MB

  • Trim it. Cut it down to the part the recipient actually needs.
  • Re-export at a lower resolution or bitrate. 1080p instead of 4K can cut the size dramatically while still looking sharp on most screens. See our compression guide.
  • Split it into parts. Send each part as its own share with a clear title.
  • Use a large-file service for long, full-quality footage. The Smash alternative page covers a service often used for video.

Sharing a clip with several people

Posting a video to a social network or a video platform makes it public or semi-public, and recompresses it. Sometimes you just want a few people to have the file itself: the full-quality clip from a recital, a draft edit for a client, a screen recording for a colleague. Post the code in a group chat and everybody downloads the same original file, and you can add a note with timestamps or feedback requests in the same share.

Formats and playback

Any format can be shared, but the recipient needs a player that supports it. MP4 with H.264 video plays almost everywhere. HEVC (H.265) files from recent phones are smaller but may not play on older Windows PCs without an extra codec. If you’re unsure what the recipient uses, exporting to MP4/H.264 is the safe choice.

ShareQuik isn’t a video host: there is no player, no streaming, no view counts, and shares expire after at most 15 days. For a video you want people to watch online for months, use a video platform.

Frequently asked questions

Will ShareQuik reduce my video quality?

No. The file is stored and downloaded exactly as uploaded.

Can the recipient watch the video without downloading it?

No. ShareQuik has no video player; the recipient downloads the file and plays it on their device.

Can I send a 4K video?

Yes, if the file is 100 MB or less. Most 4K clips longer than about half a minute will be bigger than that.

Is my video visible to the public?

No. Shares are not listed anywhere; they can only be opened with their code. Anyone you give the code to can download the video, though.

Can I share several videos at once?

Yes, if together they are 100 MB or less. Otherwise split them into several shares.
