Share files online with anyone

Upload files and add a note if you like. You get one 8-character code, and everyone you give it to can open the same share.

The 8-character code from the sender: 2 letters, then 6 digits.

Sharing is different from sending. When you share, you often want the same files to reach several people: a group chat, a class, a team, or relatives who all want the holiday photos. With ShareQuik, you don’t send a separate copy to each person. Post the code once and anyone who has it can download.

You can also include up to 3,000 words of text in the same share, which is handy for instructions, a message, or details that go with the files.

How ShareQuik works

  1. Step 1

    Add files or text

Drop files into the Share panel above, up to 100 MB in total, or paste up to 3,000 words of text.

  2. Step 2

    Generate a share code

Select Generate Code. ShareQuik uploads everything and shows a code like BX678095 that you can copy, text or read out.

  3. Step 3

    The recipient enters the code

On any ShareQuik page they type the code into the Find panel, enter an email address, and download the files.

Built for sharing with groups

  • One code, many recipients

Post the code in a group chat or on a whiteboard. There is no per-recipient invite to manage.

  • Files plus a message

Text in the share appears as soon as someone enters the code, before they download anything.

  • Optional title

Give the share a title like “Q3 slides” or “Wedding photos, batch 1” so people know they have the right one.

  • No accounts to chase

Nobody in the group has to sign up, so you won’t spend the afternoon resending invitations.

Typical ways people share files online

Teachers and trainers

Write the code on the board and let everyone download the handout or exercise files.

Events and meetings

Share slides or a PDF agenda with everyone in the room without collecting email addresses first.

Family and friends

Drop the code into the group chat after a trip so everyone can grab the photos.

Small teams

Pass around a build, a dataset or a set of mock-ups for a quick review.

Tips for sharing with a group

  • Think about who can see the code. Everyone who sees it can open the share, including anyone they forward it to.
  • Extend if people are slow to download. Groups take time; extend the share to 15 days right after generating the code.
  • Split big collections. If a batch is over 100 MB, create a few shares with clear titles (“Part 1 of 3”).
  • Keep the text short and useful. A line about what the files are and what to do with them saves a round of questions.

When a different tool fits better

If the group needs to edit the same files over weeks, or you need to control who has access person by person, use a shared cloud folder. ShareQuik is for distributing a copy, not for ongoing collaboration. For a step-by-step comparison of methods, see how to share files online.

Frequently asked questions

How many people can download from one share?

There is no fixed limit on how many people can use a code. Anyone who has it can download until the share expires.

Can I see who downloaded my files?

No. ShareQuik doesn’t show senders a list of downloads.

Can I share only text, without files?

Yes. A share can contain just text (up to 3,000 words), just files, or both.

Can recipients preview files before downloading?

They see each file’s name, type and size. Files are downloaded to open them; there is no in-browser preview.
